The quickly growing animosity between the highly-charged Mickie James and The Glamazon fueled the fire for their explosive battle. But, when Mickie got trapped upside down in the turnbuckle, The Fabulous Firebird refused to back off, drawing the disqualification.

After the bell, Women’s Champion Michelle McCool and Layla emerged. Rather than engage them, Beth opted to leave her venerable opponent to the wolves and make her exit. Lay-Cool proceeded to punish “Piggie James,” an assault that culminated with an earth-shattering Faithbreaker.

While trying to attack Mickie James during her match with Beth Phoenix, a shocked Women’s Champion Michelle McCool instead connected with The Fabulous Firebird, allowing Mickie to roll her up for the victory. This mishap drew major retribution from the furious Glamazon, who turned the full force of her dominance on Michelle. And just when it looked like her wrath had subsided and that she and Mickie had joined forces to eradicate a common enemy, Beth suddenly hit the Glam Slam on the stunned Diva, assuring with supremacy over all.

Prior to the match, Women’s Champion Michelle McCool and Layla continued in their mean-spirited ways of hurling insults at Mickie James. Despite the hurtful words, Mickie was able to focus and get the pinfall over Layla, giving her and Maria the victory. Then, after the bell, the fired-up Mickie headed straight for McCool, who was seated with the announce team. But before Mickie could get to her rival, Beth Phoenix attacked from behind, slamming Mickie onto the announce table. Reveling in the attack, Michelle stood over her fallen rival and engaged in a stare down with The Glamazon. Despite the tension in the air, the Christmas clashing had come to an end.

As Women’s Champion Michelle McCool and Layla sat ringside, Mickie James overcame both Beth Phoenix and Natalya to become the No. 1 Contender to the gold. After Natalya put Mickie in the Sharpshooter, The Fabulous Firebird grabbed the opportunity to execute a Glam Slam on the occupied Dungeon-trained Diva. But when Beth went for the victory, Mickie suddenly knocked her from the ring, capturing the huge win for herself, along with the hope of becoming the Women’s Champion for the fifth time.

After the bell, a fed-up Mickie confronted Michelle, hurling the Champion back into her chair. This sparked a double-team attack by Michelle and Layla, which lit the fuse for an explosive rescue by the returning Maria.

Mickie James can’t seem to wipe off the bull’s-eye on her back. The Divas Champion faced off against Beth Phoenix as the No. 1 contender to her title, Alicia Fox, looked on from ringside. Fox wouldn’t stay put for long. The leggy lovely managed to distract the Divas Champion long enough for The Glamazon to take advantage and notch the victory. With the champion dazed, Fox then pummeled Mickie before exiting the ring bearing a self-satisfied grin.
