Mickie James and Maria defeated Beth Phoenix and Layla in Divas Tag Team Match at Friday Nights Smackdown on 25th December 2009.

Prior to the match, Women’s Champion Michelle McCool and Layla continued in their mean-spirited ways of hurling insults at Mickie James. Despite the hurtful words, Mickie was able to focus and get the pinfall over Layla, giving her and Maria the victory. Then, after the bell, the fired-up Mickie headed straight for McCool, who was seated with the announce team. But before Mickie could get to her rival, Beth Phoenix attacked from behind, slamming Mickie onto the announce table. Reveling in the attack, Michelle stood over her fallen rival and engaged in a stare down with The Glamazon. Despite the tension in the air, the Christmas clashing had come to an end.

For the second week in a row, Women’s Champion Michelle McCool made Mickie James’ existence miserable on Friday nights.  After Mickie soundly defeated Layla, she was quickly introduced to Michelle’s personalized video version of “Old McDonald,” designed to degrade the new SmackDown Diva with its starring character “Piggy James.” The insulting stunt left the former Women’s Champion crying in the ring.
